ALFRED, NY — Visiting Pitt-Bradford shut out the host Alfred University volleyball team, 3-0, Thursday night at the McLane Center.

The Lady Saxons lost by scores of 25-12, 25-9, and 25-22 to fall to 0-9 on the season. Senior Emily Steen (South Pasadena, CA/Purnell) had five kills and 11 digs to lead Alfred. Sophomore Emily Crosby (Fairport, NY/Fairport) had four kills and a three digs; junior Tara Quigley (Bluepoint, NY/Bayport-Bluepoint) had seven kills and a block; and senior Emma Walsh (Lancaster, NY/Mt. St. Mary) had 18 assists.

AU is in action Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26, at the Empire 8 Conference championships, hosted by Hartwick College. Alfred plays Elmira at 4 p.m. Friday; RIT at 6:30 p.m. Friday; Hartwick at 9:30 a.m. Saturday; and Nazareth at noon Saturday.
