OLEAN, NY -- The Alfred University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to visiting Hartwick Sunday afternoon in an Empire 8 Conference matchup played on the indoor courts at St. Bonaventure University.

AU (8-5, 2-4 Empire 8) got singles wins from sophomore Griffin Currie (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep), 6-1, 6-3 in first singles, and junior Autumn McLain (Oneida, NY/Oneida), 6-2, 6-4 in third singles.

Senior Holly Seidewand (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) lost her first singles match of the season, 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 in fourth singles. Seidewand is now 12-1 in fourth singles for the year.

AU is in action next on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. at RIT.
