ROCHESTER, NY — The Alfred University women’s tennis team lost 8-1 to host RIT Wednesday evening in the Lady Saxons’ final regular season match of the season.

Senior Holly Seidewand (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) earned the lone match victory for AU (8-7, 2-6), winning fourth singles 6-4, 6-4. With the win, Seidewand improves to 13-2 on the season in singles play. With the win, RIT improves to 7-5 overall and 6-2 in Empire 8 Conference play.

AU wraps up its season this weekend at the New York State championship tournament, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Ithaca College. Draws for the 14-team tournament will be announced this afternoon.
