ALFRED, NY — The Alfred University football team is ranked in the latest D3football.com Top 25 poll.

The Saxons, on the heels of a 31-28 win at St. John Fisher on Saturday, make their debut in the D3football.com poll, at number 24. With the win over Fisher, Alfred improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Empire 8.

The Saxons are in action next on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 1 p.m. at home against non-conference foe Rochester. The Saxons travel to Ithaca the following Saturday, Nov. 7. A win over the Bombers would clinch at least a share of the Empire 8 crown and give AU the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III championship tournament.
