CAZENOVIA, NY — The Alfred University Western equestrian team competed in two shows Saturday, Nov. 7, at Cazenovia. The Saxons placed second in the first show and third in the second.

The following AU riders earned first-place ribbons in their divisions: senior Lauren Pfeifer (Livonia, NY/Livonia) in reining; and junior Allison Lawrence (New Paltz, NY/Oakwood Friends), senior Michelle Applebaum (Applegate, CA/Maidu), senior Natalie Gilbert (Postsdam, NY/Parishville-Hopkinton), and freshman Kristin Eklin (Bovey, MN), all in horsemanship.

The following Alfred riders won second-place ribbons in their divisions, all in horsemanship: junior Kelly Rogan (Smithtown, NY), Gilbert, junior Kamilla Bramham (Brooksville, MN), junior Brittany Biegel (Ridge, NY/Longwood), junior Hannah Certis (Varysburg, NY), senior Kristen Kovatch (Lansdale, PA/North Penn), Pfeifer, and senior Natalie Grow (Hyde Park, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes).

The AU Western team is in action next on Dec. 5 for two shows at Cazenovia.
