Bergren Student Innovation Award winners announced
WINNER: Andrew Ivovich (Senior, Materials Science & Engineering, from Annandale NJ) for GreenAlfred, which centralized campus-wide efforts around recycling and sustainability.
HONORABLE MENTION: Shannon Richmond (Senior, Sociology, from Oregon City OR) for Relay For Life, which raised over $15,000 to support cancer research, education and advocacy.
HONORABLE MENTION: Callie Rimmel (Senior, Art and Design, from Allison Park PA) and Amy Greenough (Senior, Art and Design, from Jericho VT) for Creative Art Therapy Club, which promotes collaboration between students in education, fine arts, and psychology
The Bergren Student Innovation Awards are funded through the generosity of the Alfred University Board of Trustees and named in honor of the Rev. Dr. Richard V. Bergren, Jr.
Drawn to Diversity and Wegmans Food Markets Incorporated have announced play to partner with the University by allowing educational displays to be launched in their Hornell, NY market.
D2D jumps off the comic book pages and into the supermarket aisles as it explores the history of advertising icons such as Uncle Ben, Aunt Jemima, Chiquita Banana and a dozen other famous advertising creations. For the first time, Drawn to Diversity will also be an academic course taught by Alfred University Director of Student Activities Dan Napolitano.
