Alfred University appoints Amy M. DeKay new vice president for Student Experience

Alfred University announces the appointment of Amy M. DeKay as the University’s new vice president for Student Experience, effective July 11. DeKay comes to Alfred University with 25 years of experience in higher education student-focused positions, including the last 13 as vice president for Student Development at her alma mater, Medaille College in Buffalo.

Alfred University to award 140 master’s degrees at AUNY Commencement

At commencement ceremonies in New York City on Thursday, June 16, Alfred University will award 140 master’s degrees to students who earned them at satellite campuses in the New York Metro area during the 2021-22 school year. The 2022 AUNY commencement ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, NY.

Art and literary celebrations for Reunion '22

Alfred University alumni returning to campus this weekend for their 2022 reunion have a wide range of art and literary events to visit and sample, including a book signing by alumnus Alan Littell ’53 and Saturday’s Makers on Main Street, a celebration of artists, crafters, growers, farmers educator, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, authors, students and entrepreneurs from our community, offering hands-on interactions for adults and children.

During his tenure as press officer at his alma mater, Alfred University alumnus Alan Littell ’53 met or learned of a host of people associated with the University whose personalities were so unique and interesting he was inspired to pen essays detailing their time at Alfred.

Alfred University researcher leads team examining how anti-abortion laws affect OB-GYN practice

Meredith P. Field, an assistant Sociology professor at Alfred University is the lead author on an article in the current issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology examining data on the impact of Ohio laws on medical practice for women in light of the U.S. Supreme Court review of Roe v. Wade.

Six bronze statues, cast at Alfred University’s National Casting Center, will be awarded Friday to six Alfred University alumni at the Saxon Circle Dinner of the 2022 Alumni Reunion.
