An Alfred University senior engineering student was recognized on Thursday, Nov. 2, for his work in a co-op experience. Andrew Guariglia, a ceramic engineering major from Valley Stream, NY, is winner of the 2023 McMahon Achievement Award.

Alfred University will host the third annual “Light Matter” Experimental Film and Media Art Festival Nov. 3-5. Curated by James Hansen, assistant professor of art history, the three-day festival showcases the work of emerging and established artists from around the world, celebrating the avant-garde in cinema and media art.

Alfred University engineering faculty William LaCourse, retired professor of glass science, and S.K. Sundaram, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, will present a joint plenary lecture at the upcoming 84th annual Conference on Glass Problems in Columbus, OH.
