Meghan Dwyer, Assistant Director of Employer Relations and Event Planning at Alfred University, said nearly 60 organizations and companies visited the University to discuss employment opportunities with students. As of early Thursday afternoon, more than 150 students had visited the fair to assess their future employment prospects. Employers ranged from Belvac, which operates locally at a manufacturing facility at Sugar Hill Industrial Park in Alfred, to Alstom Inc. and Space X Inc.

New York State announces $2.5 million funding for Alfred University Center for Glass Innovation

New York State has announced plans to provide $2.5 million in new funding to support a collaboration with Alfred University aimed at expanding glass recycling markets throughout the state. The funding has been added to the $1.7 million the state previously awarded to Alfred University’s Center for Glass Innovation in 2021 supporting the Center’s ongoing work on glass production, recycling, and reuse projects.

Alfred University Black Glass Arts Series initial video log episode now available

Alfred University’s School of Art and Design held its second annual Black Glass Artist Series in February. The first of two video log episodes chronicling the series, featuring Pittsburgh-based artist Percy Echols, is now available for viewing.

The Alfred Ceramic Art Museum at Alfred University recently named Alfred University senior Gabrielle Williamson the most recent recipient of the Museum’s Jerome Ackerman Internship. ACAM extends its congratulations to Williamson.

Alfred University ‘Reunion Bikers’ update plans for their 2023 ride

The Alfred University “reunion bikers” are a group of alumni who spend the week preceding Reunion Weekend bicycling to Alfred. Join us in a tradition that was started by a handful of adventurers from the class of 1958 who decided to bicycle from the Philadelphia area to Alfred University for their 40th reunion in 1998.
