Alfred University announces 2023 Marlin Miller Outstanding Seniors

Alfred University students Knox VanRenselaar and Owen Nelson have been selected to receive the 2023 Marlin Miller Outstanding Senior Award. The pair were chosen from among 11 exceptional nominees for the prestigious honor.

Alfred University Equine Business Management degree takes off with NYS approval

The New York State Education Department this week granted its approval of Alfred University’s new major in Equine Business Management, offered through the University’s College of Business. Mark Lewis, Dean of the College of Business, said he is “very enthusiastic” about students whom the Business College will serve through the new program.

Alfred University ‘Human Library’ facilitates candid discussions about diverse perspectives

Alfred University’s Herrick Library on Wednesday (March 29) offered visitors a chance to read a different kind of book—one which helped them learn about other people’s unique experiences and break down prejudices and stereotypes.

Careers in healthcare profession topic of Alfred University hosted panel discussion

Alfred University will host a panel discussion on April 11 which will educate students on the variety of careers opportunities in healthcare, one of the largest and fastest-growing industries in the nation’s economy. Six Alfred University alumni—each accomplished professionals who work in a wide range of health care careers and industries including management, research, engineering, and clinical practice—will participate in the Feinstein-Friedman Panel on Careers in Healthcare.

Riley Lecture in Women’s and Gender Studies will be presented April 4 at Alfred University

The Twenty-Eighth Annual Elizabeth and Charles P. Riley Lecture in Women's and Gender Studies will be held on Tuesday, April 4, at 5:30 p.m. in Olin 302. Katrina Kimport, University of California, San Francisco, the Riley Lecturer, will give a talk titled "No Real Choice: How Culture and Politics Matter for Reproductive Autonomy.”

Numerous Alfred University artists to be featured in major exhibition in Stockholm

The National Museum of Sweden will unveil on March 30 the exhibition Beauty and the Unexpected, an exhibition of American art from the 1950s to today that also features a dozen artists associated with Alfred University.
