People who like music usually like a good party, and the MostArts Festival has been throwing a mid-week bash since its founding: Music under the Stars, which is hosted traditionally by the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum and will be held this year on Wednesday, July 26, on the lawn of Alfred University’s Brick dormitory.

The MostArts Festival’s Young Pianist Competition has been at the heart of the Festival since its inception in 2014, and this year six teenage classical pianists will compete again for a $10,000 grand prize during the week of July 23. The winner of the competition will be announced following the closing Gala Concert Sunday July 29, in Miller Theater.

A group of mechanical engineering students from Alfred University recently visited the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, NY, where they learned about the pioneering aviator who helped found the U.S. aircraft industry.
