The School of Art & Design, New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University will host the 2025 Glass Olympics and Symposium from Oct. 10–12, 2025, in Harder Hall on the Alfred University campus.

The School of Art & Design, New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University will host the 2025 Glass Olympics and Symposium from Oct. 10–12, 2025, in Harder Hall on the Alfred University campus.

This long-standing intercollegiate event brings together glass students and educators from across the country for a weekend of skill, creativity, and collaboration. Blending a symposium with high-energy glass-making games, the Glass Olympics celebrates the dynamic and evolving nature of contemporary glass art.

Day One events will feature the symposium and presentations:

  • Talks from leaders in the field of contemporary glass
  • Live demonstrations by Alfred University students and faculty from the School of Art and Design and Inamori School of Engineering
  • Intercollegiate exhibition held in the Turner Gallery, Harder Hall
  • A movie night featuring glass-based films by artists and students

Day Two will feature the Glass Olympics:

  • Skill-based challenges in the glass studios
  • Creative activities like zine-making and screen-printed t-shirts
  • Awards ceremony and trophy exchange

The 2025 Glass Olympics at Alfred University is an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the craft and creativity of glassmaking.
