Colleen Wahl, associate professor of dance at Alfred University, attended and presented at the recent 2025 International Somatic Educator and Therapist Association (ISMETA) conference in Benicassim, Spain.
The conference, titled “Cultivating Connections,” was held Sept. 26-28 and explored building connections through somatic movement practices. Wahl’s workshop presentation, “The Wise Counsel of Our Guts,” focused on the Embodied Knowing Model—a model for how we make sense out of the wisdom in our moving bodies. The workshop is based on Wahl's current writing project, “Embodied Wisdom: Navigating Life Through the Moving Body.”

The certification program is approved as a 500+ hour professional training through ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist Association).
