Instructions and resources will be provided.

Fall 2026, Episode 10, Nov 5, Kristian Olson
Salt Rocks: Exploring Extreme Climates of the Past and Present
The histories of ancient droughts are recorded in the salts formed from desiccating lakes. This talk will examine how we use modern shrinking lakes, such as Great Salt Lake, to help us reconstruct climate histories from ancient salt deposits. We'll also consider approaches to reconstructing the brine evolution and mineral histories of strange ancient lakes for which no modern analog exists.
Bergren Forum - Fall 2026
The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, runs 12:15-1:10 on Thursdays in Nevins Theatre, Powell Campus Center and by zoom. Bring a brown bag lunch if you wish. Coffee and tea will be provided. For further information contact or a calendar invite with the zoom link, contact John D'[email protected]
