Before becoming a Trustee for the Village of Alfred, Meredith Field thought the role sounded absolutely boring. She was wrong. How local government operates and who is responsible for it turn out to be very interesting and complex questions to answer. The day-to-day work of a Trustee is varied, unpredictable, and often challenging. But the role is equally rewarding for anyone who values community and leadership. Meredith will share the most important things she has learned in her first two terms as a Trustee for the Village of Alfred. You might be surprised to learn how much municipal government's work affects your daily life!
