Expanded Media faculty open 'Variantology' exhibition in Fosdick-Nelson Gallery

The opening reception for “Variantology,” a collaborative exhibition featuring work by faculty and staff from the Division of Expanded Media in the School of Art and Design at Alfred University, will take place Wednesday, March 4 from 7-9 p.m. in the Fosdick-Nelson Gallery, Harder Hall. The public is welcome.

AU welcomes area community for 'Selma' screening

Alfred University (AU) invites the Alfred area community to a screening of the Academy Award-winning film “SELMA” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 in Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center. The showing coincides with the 50th anniversary of the voting rights marches from Selma, AL to the state capitol of Montgomery.

Student, faculty member honored for their 'Spirit of Service' ion the Alfred community

Alfred University (AU) student Jasmine Ramón and Dr. Wesley Bentz, professor emeritus of chemistry, are the campus’s 2015 Spirit of Service Award recipients, cited for their significant contributions to the greater Alfred community.

Award winners and nominees were recognized at the fifth annual Celebration of Service program last month at the Alfred Village Hall.

Psychology professor to 'rock' Bergren Forum audience

The Alfred University’s (AU) Bergren Forum continues Thursday, Feb. 12, at 12:10 p.m. in Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center with Dr. Steve Byrne, assistant professor of counseling, who will present “The Psychology of Metal Music.”

Byrne will reveal why some people find the most aggressive and extreme music genres appealing. The program is free and open to the public.
