Alfred University Professor of Video Arts Peer Bode, co-director/founder of Alfred University’s Institute for Electronic Arts, was recently featured in an interview in 10Magazine.

15-year-old Alice Zhang wins MostArts top honor

Alice Zhang, a 15-year-old sophomore at Vernon Hills High School, in Vernon Hills, Ill., won first prize in the 2017 Young Pianist Competition at Alfred University’s MostArts Festival. She will receive a $10,000 cash prize and an invitation to become a Young Steinway Artist, and will return to Alfred University for the opening Gala Concert at the 2018 MostArts Festival next July.

Art Force 5 to attend NAACP Convention, build tribute to 1917 Silent Parade

Alfred University’s team of art activists, Art Force 5, has been invited to this year’s NAACP Convention to build an interactive tribute to the Silent Parade, a revolutionary NYC protest march that occurred July 28, 1917. The annual convention is being held July 22-26 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Attendees of the event will be invited to paint one simple tile to be inserted into large-scale mosaic portraits.

Alfred University Electrical Engineering Professor Xingwu Wang to present paper on electric vehicles at World Conference and Expo on Green Energy

Alfred University Professor of Electrical Engineering Xingwu Wang will present a paper, “Impacts of Renewables on Electric Vehicle Demands,” at the third World Conference and Expo on Green Energy, which be held in Berlin in late September.
