William Irvine is Professor of Philosophy at Wright State University and the author of several books, including The Stoic Challenge, A Guide to the Good Life, and On Desire.

The Sibley Lecture is an annual lecture on topics in philosophy or religious studies. It is hosted by the Division of Human Studies and honors the late Myron or "Mike" Sibley who taught Religious Studies at AU for 26 years.
This year's lecture is dedicated to the memory of Bill Dibrell.
