The Alfred University group was at the nation’s capital March 29-31 for the DC Purple City Leadership Forum.

Twenty-five Alfred University students and a group of faculty and staff traveled to Washington, D.C., last week for a three-day event which allowed students to engage with alumni who have enjoyed successful careers in the nation’s capital.

An Alfred University student was recognized for academic excellence prior to the annual Samuel R. Scholes Lecture held Thursday morning, April 6. Elijah Hammarlund was presented with the Scholes Scholar Award, which is given each year to an Alfred University engineering student who had the highest grade point average after completion of his or her first year at Alfred University.

Monica Nowik, a fourth-year Alfred University student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, delivered today a lecture based on her essay "Bodily Autonomy and Gender Bias in Rosemary's Baby," winner of the 2023 Wit and Wisdom Student Award sponsored by the Alfred University chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
