John Simmins ’84, PhD ’90, executive director of the Center for Advanced Ceramic Technology (CACT) at Alfred University, was interviewed Tuesday (Feb. 6) for a webcast produced by LifeSciencesNY, the association focused on fostering innovation and helping New York State’s bio/med industry thrive.

Simmins discussed the CACT, its mission and how the organization supports industry, particularly life sciences companies. He talked about Alfred University engineering internships: how student interns could help life sciences companies and how that internship could help the student.

LifeSciencesNY members—the primary audience for Tuesday’s webcast—are New York state’s pharmaceutical, medical technology, and bio/med companies, leading academic research institutions, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers.
