Alfred University hosted its annual Fall Career and Graduate School Fair on Thursday, Sept. 17. The event, held in the Joyce-Walton Center, drew 306 students.
More than 300 Alfred University students attended the university’s annual Fall Career and Graduate School Fair Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Joyce-Walton Center.
Representatives from a total of 49 employers and graduate schools participated in the event. Alfred University students had to opportunity to meet with them, discussing their career goals and plans to continue their education at graduate school, and distributing their resumes.
“Today’s turnout was incredible, with more than 300 students taking advantage of the opportunity to connect directly with employers and graduate programs,” said Jessica Doner, director of the Alfred University Career Development Center. “Events like this give students the chance to explore what might come next, build relationships, and have meaningful conversations about internships, employment, and continued education. We’re thrilled to see so many students actively investing in their futures.”
One of the companies that attended Thursday’s events, J.W. Hicks, Inc., which provides specialized refractory solutions, conducted on-campus interview on Friday (Sept. 18).

Some students visit a booth at Thursday’s Fall Career and Graduate School Fair staffed by representatives of Irwin Car and Equipment, Inc., an Irwin, PA-based company that designs, manufactures, rebuilds, and repairs standard and custom-made heavy-duty materials handling equipment.
