About This Event

Episode 3: Culture as Capital: Reframing First-Gen Strengths Through For the Culture and Community Cultural Wealth

Hosted by Assistant Vice President of Student Experience Gabe Iturbides, this workshop uses Marcus Collins’ For the Culture and Yosso’s Community Cultural Wealth framework to reimagine how first-generation college students leverage identity, culture, and resilience as powerful forms of capital. Participants will explore strategies for validating and activating cultural assets that drive student success today.

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, runs from 12:15 to 1:10 p.m. on Thursdays in Nevins Theater in Powell Campus Center and by Zoom. Bring a brown bag lunch if you wish. Coffee and tea will be provided. For further information contact or a calendar invite with the zoom link, contact John D’Angelo.
