About This Event

Episode 7: Experiments with Natural Dyes

This past summer, Ann Rossington combined her interests in gardening and textile dyeing by extracting colorants from flower petals and heartwood. She used these natural dyes to color a variety of fabric swatches, producing a range of hues. This talk outlines the methods used to obtain each dye and the resulting color outcomes.

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, runs from 12:15 to 1:10 p.m. on Thursdays in Nevins Theater in Powell Campus Center and by Zoom. Bring a brown bag lunch if you wish. Coffee and tea will be provided. For further information contact or a calendar invite with the zoom link, contact John D’Angelo.
