Episode 10: Artist Panel: Nature as Collaborator
Our earliest examples of art frequently use natural materials to depict subjects from the natural world. As we navigate the realities of anthropogenic climate change and our destabilizing world, some artists are (re)turning to the oldest human technologies. From sculpting and printing with mushrooms to drawing with charcoal made from invasive species and more, these artists incorporate nature as both subject and co-author in their work. This panel discussion by alumnx artists will be moderated by Corey Fecteau ’01, artist and Assistant Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Division of Human Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, runs from 12:15 to 1:10 p.m. on Thursdays in Nevins Theater in Powell Campus Center and by Zoom. Bring a brown bag lunch if you wish. Coffee and tea will be provided. For further information contact or a calendar invite with the Zoom link, contact John D’Angelo.
