The School of Art & Design + Performing Arts Division at Alfred University welcomes applications for Summer 2024 BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Artist-in-Residence program. The residency provides early-career BIPOC artists with time and space to dive deeply into their artistic research and practice, and creative endeavors.

The School of Art & Design welcomes International Theodore Randall Chair Simeen Farhat and Robert C. Turner Teaching Fellow Eugene Ofori Agyei in the Spring semester 2024.

Save the Dates! Spring thesis exhibitions and senior shows are scheduled. MFA exhibitions will open every Saturday evening from April 6 -27, and Friday May 3, with receptions from 6-8pm on the first day of the exhibition. Senior Shows are scheduled to open with the annual large reception on Saturday, May 4 from 4-8pm.

Lauren Lake, Michele and Marty Cohen Dean of Alfred University’s School of Art & Design + Performing Arts Division, recently was named president of the National Council of Arts Administrators (NCAA). Her two-year term began on Jan. 1.

Artwork by 10 undergraduate students in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design has been chosen for the Best of SUNY Art Exhibition, an annual display of art by State University of New York students across New York.

The logo design contest for Hot Dog Day 2024 is now open for submissions. The winning design will adorn the Hot Dog Day t-shirts, posters, and other merchandise and paraphernalia celebrating next spring’s 52nd annual Hot Dog Day, scheduled for April 20, 2024.

Columbus-based artist, Sharone Putter a graduate from Alfred's School of Art and Design exhibition, , "Demarcations," is being exhibited at the Sarah Gormley Gallery in Columbus, OH from January 10th until February 10th.

Blue Tales, an open invitation to witness the human experience, where blue hues whisper stories of growth, self-discovery, and the diverse paths we thread on our way to becoming.
Exhibitions will be on view through March 3 with an opening reception on February 23 from 6-8pm.

Opening reception of the Spring 2024 exhibition will take place on February 22 from 5-7pm. Bill and Jack and Other Friends features the recent acquisition of sculptures by Jack Earl along with companion works from the permanent collection. The exhibition is on view through July 30, 2024.
