Three student participants in the 2022 Hot Dog Day parade in Alfred on Saturday, April 30, march down Main Street dressed as hot dogs in buns. The trio playfully tossed frankfurters during the parade, which kicked off the 50th Hot Dog Day celebration. The event, a joint venture between Alfred University and Alfred State, raised approximately $5,600 for area charities.

The hot dogs were back, and so were the people. Hundreds visited the Village of Alfred and the Alfred University campus Saturday as the community celebrated the 50th official Hot Dog Day anniversary under sunny skies following a two-year, blame-the-virus suspension of festivities.

Building on a semester of research and collaborative work, students in Professor of Art History Hope Childers’ "Landscape Across Cultures" class have put together an exhibition called “Sensing Nature,” which opened last week in the Scholes Library Project Space and features a wide variety of media, including paintings, prints, sculpture, photography.
