Economics in Action: Alfred University students take in Washington, D.C.

From April 1 to 4, 15 students from the Alfred University Economics Club traveled to Washington, D.C., for their annual professional development trip, an experience that reflected Alfred’s strong emphasis on experiential learning. Rather than remaining within the classroom, students engaged directly with professionals in public policy, finance, and economic development, gaining a clearer understanding of how economics operates in real-world environments.

The University of Georgia Press (UGP) recently contacted Alfred University English Professor Susan Mayberry, advising her that UGP wanted to publish a paperback reprint of her 2007 book on Toni Morrison, "Can’t I Love What I Criticize? The Masculine and Morrison."

Alfred University AKO chapter announces 2026 leadership awards

The Sisters of Alpha Kappa Omicron announce two current students have been named as winners of the 2026 AKO Leadership Awards. The awards were established to award two Alfred University students each year through the generous support from numerous donors from the AKO sisterhood.

Alfred University ‘Reunion Bikers’ will introduce updated bike jerseys

In 2012 the Alfred University Reunion Bikers debuted their first jerseys during the “Bikers from Mars” (Mars, PA) tour. That effort was largely due to the outstanding work of our marketing director, David Holleb ’77. Many thanks to David! That first jersey has stood the test of time and has held up well over the years. But, at last year’s alumni reunion weekend the reunion bikers decided it was time to introduce a new design.
