The Alfred University College of Business presented alumnus Bryan Hill ’90, Fairfax County (VA) Executive and a member of the university’s Board of Trustees, with its 2025 Outstanding Alumni Partner Award.

Known as the busiest person in Fairfax County, Hill has made time every year since 2018 to welcome students from the Alfred University Economics Club (AUEC) during their annual experiential learning trip to the Washington, D.C. area, held this year April 2-5. Sangjoon Lee, professor of economics and AUEC faculty adviser, said Hill’s candid conversations and insights have consistently made an impression on students, so much so that Hill is regularly voted by students as the speaker they most want to meet.

Lee presented Hill’s award during the club’s April 4 visit to Micron Technology in Manassas, VA, where Hill joined the students. Also present was Brandon Thurner ’05, alumni lead for AUEC’s D.C. trip and Fairfax County resident, who himself received the Outstanding Alumni Partner Award in 2024.

Thurner is project manager for Enegis, a Fairfax County energy consulting firm that focuses on strategy, technology, economics, and project development. He received his award last year at the entrance of the Fairfax County Government Center, where Hill’s office is located.
