During the All In For Alfred Day of Giving, held December 4–5, their support totaled over $220,000, underscoring the lasting impact of Alfred University’s personal approach to education.

Leon Sobon ’58 and his wife, Shirley, founded Shenandoah Vineyards in 1977, helping to pioneer sustainable practices in the California wine industry. Shenandoah, based in Plymouth, CA, is one of the first environmentally friendly producers to distribute local wines widely outside the region.

As an undergraduate biology major at Alfred University in the early 2000s, Ross Munson took a plant biology class taught by Cheryld Emmons which included the study of photosynthesis. For the last nine years Munson, now a high school biology teacher in the Wellsville Central School District, has brought a group of his students to campus to take a day-long workshop and experience what it is like to learn in a college environment.
