Alfred University Alumni Council welcomes new leadership, recognizes outgoing officers

The Alfred University Alumni Council has announced its officers and membership for the coming year, welcoming three new members while recognizing alumni whose volunteer service has helped strengthen connections across the Alfred community.

Serving on the cabinet are:

  • Susan M. Rozak '86, MS ’88 – President
  • Christopher B. Robinson ’86 – Vice President
  • Krystina A. Gauer ’21, MBA ’22 – Secretary
  • Nathaniel O. Marrero ’23, MS ’25 – Treasurer

Joining the Alumni Council as new members are Brian Ngatunga ’25, Olivia M. Gilbert ’24, and Cassie Reed, MBA ’23.

Returning Council members include Sheila A. Flanagan ’79, Danielle M. Johnson-Kutch ’03, Natalie R. Krauser-Retif ’98, Laurie Lounsberry Meehan ’91, Alex Moskal ’08, and Daryl L. Murray ’78.

Rozak said she is looking forward to leading the Council as it enters its next chapter. 

“I begin my term as Alumni Council president with thanks to outgoing President Danielle Johnson-Kutch, whose leadership helped grow the Council and increase alumni engagement,” Rozak said. “I look forward to building on that progress. I believe AU is positioned for continued success despite the challenges facing higher education nationwide, and the Alumni Council can serve as an important bridge among our students, alumni, and University leadership. I’m excited to work with alumni to ensure we are all ambassadors for AU. Go Saxons!”

The University also extends its sincere appreciation to the outgoing officers for their leadership and service. Johnson-Kutch concludes her term as Alumni Council president and will continue serving on the Council. Sheila A. Flanagan '79 has completed her term as secretary, and Daryl L. Murray '78 has completed his service as treasurer, with both continuing as Council members.

Christie A. Swarts ’98 concludes her service as vice president and has stepped down from the Alumni Council following her appointment to the Alfred University Board of Trustees.

Looking back on her three years as president, Johnson-Kutch reflected on the Council’s work and accomplishments. 

“It has been an honor to serve as Alumni Council president over the past three years, and I am incredibly proud of what the Council has accomplished,” Johnson-Kutch said. “From our Day of Service at Reunion and Homecoming to innovative opportunities to engage alumni and students, we have strengthened the Council’s impact across the AU community. As Susan Rozak steps into the presidency, I have tremendous confidence in her leadership and look forward to seeing the Council continue to flourish.”

The Alumni Council serves as ambassadors for Alfred University, working to strengthen lifelong connections between alumni and the University. Council members support alumni engagement initiatives, provide valuable insight and feedback, encourage philanthropy, and help foster meaningful opportunities for alumni to remain connected to Alfred and one another.

The University thanks all current and outgoing Alumni Council members for their continued commitment to Alfred University and the worldwide Saxon community.
