Academics Matter Here

Alfred student-athletes also continue to excel in the classroom. At this year’s event, 49 student-athletes were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, a national honor society recognizing those who maintain a 3.4 GPA or higher while competing in varsity sports. It’s a powerful reminder that at Alfred, you don’t have to choose between athletics and academics. You can succeed in both.

Picture Yourself in The Purple and Gold

If you’re considering playing sports in college, the ALFYS tell an important story.

At Alfred University, you’ll find:

  • A close-knit athletic community
  • Opportunities to lead and grow
  • Support in the classroom and in competition
  • A culture that celebrates who you are—not just how you play
