Callista Siamof
Callista Siamof is a trumpet performance undergraduate at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Hailing from Appleton WI, Callista studied under Renée Millard and participated in many state-wide honors competitions for both solo and ensemble performance. Notably, Callista won the VENTO winds concerto competition located in her hometown by performing the Aruntunian Trumpet Concerto.
Now at Eastman, Callista studies with Professor Andrew McCandless, who was previously principal trumpet of the Toronto Symphony. She regularly performs with the Eastman Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, the FFF Quintet, and subs with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Since her time at Eastman, Callista has competed as a finalist for the brass concerto competition in 2024, and participated in a masterclass with Barbara Butler.
Callista was also accepted into the 4-week long Texas Music Festival, where she studied with Mark Hughes, principal trumpet of the Houston Symphony. At this festival, she participated in a brass quintet with musicians from across the country, and played in a masterclass with Tetsuya Lawson, who is principal trumpet of the Houston Opera and Ballet.
