Over 30 AU Chamber Singers Alumni return to sing together one more time on Saturday, June 10 at 4pm in Miller Theater.

Registration has been extended for Alfred Summer Arts Workshops. Local residents receive a 25% discount and K-12 teachers receive a 50% discount for adult workshops. “Make Art with us this Summer” in single day, and week-long or multi-week workshops June 26 - July 22 on the Alfred University campus.

Alfred University’s School of Art & Design held its annual Senior Show on Saturday, May 6, with 60 Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) students presenting their senior exhibitions.

A pair of recent graduates of Alfred University were recipients of the 2023 State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.

At Thursday evening’s Board of Trustees dinner, Alfred University celebrated its longstanding tradition of mentorship. A group of seniors who would graduate during commencement exercise on Saturday spoke about members of the University community to whom they attributed much of their success.

Kevin Wixted, retired professor of painting and drawing in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, had been awarded a 2023 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. The $30,000 grant will be used to support Wixted’s studio practice during the 2023 year.

Work by Alfred University Associate Professor of Ceramic Art Matt Kelleher will be featured in the 31st Annual St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour, located in the St. Croix River Valley of Minnesota.

Alfred University Visiting Assistant Professor of Photography Kelsey Sucena’s first solo show opens Friday, May 5, at the Buffalo Institute of Contemporary Art.

Yuval Zaliouk, the internationally renowned conductor of symphony orchestras from London to Toledo, OH, joined Alfred University’s MostArts Festival in 2015 and has returned as conductor of the MostArts Festival Orchestra for every Festival since.

The 2023 MostArts Festival opens July 23-29, featuring world class performances by the International MostArts Orchestra, conducted by Yuval Zaliouk. Guest artists include Russian pianist, Asiya Korepanova; jazz pianist, Dave Miller with Rebecca DuMaine; 2019 Young Pianist Competition winner, Carey Byron; and a special Family Night Concert with a surprise guest.
