SDS search candidate presentations this week, and the Black Glass Artist Series continues. Seniors and second year grads, check the opportunities list for information, and join the Q&A info session for the Cité Fellowship on February 16.

Arts Faculty Search Candidate Public Lectures

Arts Faculty Search candidates will give public lectures. Students, faculty, staff and the public are encouraged to attend. The lectures will take at 4:30pm in Nevins Theater in the Powell Campus Center unless otherwise noted.

Leo Tecosky Artist in Residence

During the Month of February 2024 Alfred University School of Art and Design and Sculpture / Dimensional Studies will host glass artists who hail from the afro diaspora. Each week an Artist working with glass will lead workshops and lecture on their work and experience. Leo Tecosky will give public demonstrations on 2/13 and 2/15 from 1:30-4pm in the Glass Studio in Binns Merrill Hall,and a Public Lecture on 2/16 at 4:30pm in BMH 106


Alfred Art Walk

Alfred Art Walk is a collaborative monthly venture created by the galleries in the Village of Alfred and on the campuses of Alfred University and Alfred State College in an effort to foster dialogue within the local arts communities. February 15, 5-8pm


Visiting Arts & Scholars: Shing Yin Khor

Visiting Artists & Scholars Speaker Series will be held once per month on the Third Thursday of the month at 4:30pm during the 2023-2024 Academic Year.


Kara Gut and Clare Gatto Artists in Residence

Institute for Electronic Arts

Resident Artists Kara Gut and Clare Gatto, two image-based digital artists working collaboratively on hybrid installations inspired by fantasy role-play video game design, will give a public presentation on Thursday, February 15 at 5:30pm in Snodgrass Gallery.

New Faculty

Cohen Gallery presents: New Faculty, and exhibition featuring work by seven recently hired tenure-track professors: Rebecca Arday, Paul Briggs, Nicki Green, Stephanie Hanes, Anthony Nguyen in collaboration with Taryn Cassella, Kelsey Sucena, and Will Wheeler. The exhibition opens on Thursday, January 18, with a reception from 5 to 8pm, and will run through March 17.
