Mark Zupan, Alfred University president, helps members of the football team move new students' belongings into residence halls on Friday. The University opened its 188th academic year by welcoming 453 first-year and 90 transfer students. Classes for the 2023-24 year began on Monday.

Alfred University convocation opens 188th academic year

Alfred University hosted its Opening Convocation Friday afternoon, welcoming more than 540 new students to campus and marking the beginning of the University’s 188th academic year. Classes for the 2023-24 year begin on Monday, Aug. 28.

Sikora's artwork included in exhibition at Ferrin Contemporary

Alfred University Professor Linda Sikora is represented in the exhibition ARE WE THERE YET, currently on display at the Ferrin Contemporary gallery, located on the campus of the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), in North Adams MA. Sikora is a Professor of Ceramic Art in the School of Art and Design.

Visiting professor in Performing Arts Division works on adaptation of ‘Wizard of Oz’

Ola Kraszpulska, Visiting Assistant Professor in Performance Design & Technology at Alfred University, was instrumental in the production and adaptation of the timeless classic, “The Wizard of Oz,” which opened Thursday at Geva Theatre in Rochester.
