Ceramic Art Museum to open exhibits of Reuben Nakian, Ashley Lyon sculpture

The Alfred Ceramic Art Museum will open two new exhibitions Thursday, Sept. 21: "Reuben Nakian: The Impassioned Gesture" and "Ashley Lyon: Super Real." An opening reception at the Museum for both exhibitions will be held Sept. 21 from 5 to 7 pm. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration.

For 32nd consecutive year, Alfred University named on Princeton Review ‘Best Colleges’ list

The Princeton Review has released its 2024 Best 389 Colleges and, for the 32nd straight year, Alfred University appears on the list. Alfred University has been honored by the Princeton Review each year since the publication released its first Best Colleges list in 1992.

Carder Steuben Glass Association tours Paul Vickers Gardner Glass Center

Members of the Carder Steuben Glass Association (CSGA) were on the Alfred University campus Thursday (Sept. 7) to tour the Paul Vickers Gardner Glass Center as part of the group’s three-day 2023 Symposium being held Sept. 7-9.

Alfred University MFA student to have work shown at Larissa Biennale in Greece

Anna Antonia Yiaxi Savvidou, a student enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts program in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, will have work included in an exhibition in Greece which opens on Sept. 21.

Alfred University MFA student will serve as keynote for Salem Art Works’ Festival of Fire

Rhiannon Scheidt, a student in the Master of Fine Arts, sculpture/dimensional studies program in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, will participate in the Festival of Fire, a weekend event in September which includes an iron pour and multi-disciplinary demonstrations.
