Alfred University MFA student will serve as keynote for Salem Art Works’ Festival of Fire
Rhiannon Scheidt, a student in the Master of Fine Arts, sculpture/dimensional studies program in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, will participate in the Festival of Fire, a weekend event in September which includes an iron pour and multi-disciplinary demonstrations.
The Festival of Fire, which celebrates the transformative nature of fire, will be held Sept. 22-24 at the Salem Art Works in Salem, NY. The annual collaborative event is a weekend exploration of the process, production, and performative aspects of making art with fire. It includes hands-on workshops, artist talks, demonstrations, performances, and exhibitions centered around fire arts.
Scheidt will serve as one of the four keynote speakers for the Festival of Fire.
