Auditions for AU Dance Theater
Audition to be in cast in a student or faculty work.
All experience levels welcome - lots of dance, never danced before - all are encouraged to attend.
Rehearsals run in the fall semester and the performance is in February 2024.

First Year Graduate Student Presentations: Annual event introducing the incoming class of graduate students in the School of Art & Design. Short presentations by first year graduate students including candidates in Electronic Integrated Art,  the Divisions of Ceramic Art, Sculpture Dimensional Studies, and Painting. This pecha-kucha-style talk will offer a glimpse into their innovative and exciting studio practices. 

September 16, 7pm Miller Theater

WONLANDE - presented by The Echoes of Africa Dance Collective  Alfred University and the New York State DanceForce are proud to offer: Echoes of Africa - a collective of artists - dancers, choreographers and musicians that bring arts within the African Diaspora to audiences within New York State and beyond. 

small group of dancers photographed on black backgroundThe Echoes of Africa Dance Collective will present “Wonlande,” a production of Traditional and Contemporary African drum and dance on September 16th 7:00pm in Miller Theater. This high energy, dynamic and musically enriching communal event takes the audience on a cultural tour through the countries of the Caribbean and West Africa. The audience will enjoy the songs, the rhythms and the live percussion as they celebrate life and culture of the African Diaspora in this one-night extravaganza. This performance would take place at the Miller Performing Arts Center and is free to the public.

Alfred University Theatre Department Fundraising GARAGE SALE The Alfred University Theatre Dept. is holding a fundraising garage sale! Need an interesting outfit, a piece of furniture, a tool, or just some random bric-a-brac to decorate your wall? All that and more can be found at this unique and one of a kind event. Years of accumulated inventory from the Alfred University Theatre department is being offered in this garage sale fundraiser. 

The sale will include costumes and clothes of all kinds as well as tools, furniture and other strange and cool items gathered from the depths of the theatre’s storages. In addition to items culled from the department, there will be a broader selection of community donated items as well.

Held in the parking lot and front lawn of Crandall Hall (The Montessori parking lot), directly across from the AU bandstand and Alfred Farmers Market, come buy a basket from the garage sale to put all your farmer market goodies in! All sales will be cash only and these deals are not to be missed!!
