Due to the popularity of the Varsity Hunt Seat Equestrian Clinic offered during Summer at Alfred 2026, a second session of the program for young riders has been added.
Summer at Alfred University provides a wide variety of exciting activities, including pre-college programs, arts-focused workshops and residencies, sports clinics, and engineering short courses. It offers two equestrian-focused pre-college programs—Varsity Hunt Seat Equestrian Clinic and Varsity Western Equestrian Clinic—which are ideal for youngsters looking for experience in a collegiate equestrian program setting.
The first Hunt Seat Equestrian clinic, scheduled for June 28 through July 3, has sold out. A second clinic is set for July 12-17. Spots remain open for the Western Equestrian clinic, set for June 28 through July 3.
“This program is perfect for riders ages 12-16 who are serious about developing their skills and considering riding in college but are unsure about where to start or what college-level competition looks like,” the clinics description states.
Instructor for the recently-added Hunt Seat Equestrian clinic for July 12-17 is Teresa Oliver, head dressage coach, assistant hunt seat coach/instructor and trainer in Alfred University’s Equestrian Program.
The Varsity Western Equestrian Clinic will be instructed by Adam D’Agostino, head coach of Alfred University’s western equestrian team and Equestrian Program director for the university. The initial sold-out Hunt Seat clinic will be instructed by Theresa Lounsberry, head hunt seat coach at Alfred University.
