Sketchbook as Research Workshop: Process + Experimentation
Date: Mar 31, 2026
Participants will explore how to design and deploy prompts, visual formulas, material experiments, and interdisciplinary combinations that encourage risk-taking and generate unexpected outcomes. Through guided demonstrations, hands-on making, and reflective discussion, educators will develop sketchbook pages that prioritize process, curiosity, and personal voice- approaches that translate directly to engaging, student- centered instruction across grade levels.
This workshop supports educators seeking fresh strategies to invigorate their own creative practice while developing practical tools they can immediately implement in their classrooms. Participants will leave with a renewed relationship to the sketchbook, a toolkit of adaptable prompts and strategies, and a deeper understanding of how process-driven exploration supports creativity, critical thinking, and sustained artistic growth.
