Alfred University’s pre-health program is designed to prepare students for their next steps in the healthcare field after graduation. With guidance from professors, advisors, and deans, students are supported every step of the way as they work toward careers in health professions or medical school. With more than 10 tracks, including veterinary medicine, psychiatry, and dentistry, there’s a pathway for every future healthcare professional. But where do you meet others with similar goals? The Pre-Health Club offers that exact space.
As one of the largest clubs on campus, Pre-Health Club connects students who are pursuing careers in healthcare. It’s not only a place for networking but also a space to meet people, build friendships, and share experiences. Members regularly connect through events like board game nights and bake sales, creating a supportive and social environment.
Pre-Health Club is dedicated to helping its members succeed. Proceeds from club events go toward funding students’ MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) fees, helping reduce financial stress so students can focus on preparing for exams.
The club also organizes discussions with alumni and professionals in healthcare fields. These sessions give students valuable insight into their future careers. One visiting speaker, Dr. Fogelman, graduated from Alfred University in 2002 before attending Harvard Medical School, offering students a real-world example of success after Alfred.
