The Institute for Electronic Arts is dedicated to the integration of electronic media within the fine arts disciplines through a focus on art making, research, and education. In recognition of this integration, the Institute for Electronic Arts will develop working partnerships with industry and other organizations. To identify the needs of contemporary artists, the Institute will support evolving electronic studio research labs, host national and international conferences, and establish artists’ residencies and workshops. The Institute for Electronic Arts will encourage and support projects that involve interactive multi-media, distance communication systems, experimental music/video environments, and publications. The Institute for Electronic Arts is dedicated to the global interactions of technological experimentation and artistic investigations.

About this Facility

The Institute for Electronic Arts was established in 1997 to focus on the development of electronic imaging studios, to sponsor cross-disciplinary work, and to sponsor interactive artist residencies for the promotion of professional dialogues. The Institute for Electronic Arts is currently developing net-based projects to support studio and international communications.
