Alfred University Professor Yiquan Wu elected to World Academy of Ceramics

Yiquan Wu, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Ceramics Engineering at Alfred University, has been elected an Academician (Professional Member) of the World Academy of Ceramics (WAC).


ALFRED, NY – Yiquan Wu, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Ceramics Engineering at Alfred University, has been elected an Academician (Professional Member) of the World Academy of Ceramics (WAC).

The Professional Member is designated to “reward and honor individuals who have made an international renown significant contribution to the advancement of ceramics culture, science and technology.” A member of the 2022 “Science” class of the World Academy of Ceramics, Wu is one of only 16 worldwide elected an Academician of WAC.

Founded in 1987, the World Academy of Ceramics is committed to promoting the development and interdisciplinary integration of ceramics science, engineering, and technology. The maximum number of Academicians is presently limited to approximately 300.

Wu will officially be awarded the Academy Diploma in the Induction Ceremony of the new WAC Academy Members during the Opening Ceremony of CIMTEC 2022 - International Conferences on Modern Materials and Technologies, in Italy in June 2022.
