Assistant Professor of Ceramic Art Johnathan Hopp has been selected as a 2022 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow

Alfred University Assistant Professor of Ceramic Art Johnathan Hopp has been selected as a 2022 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in the category of architecture and design.


Alfred University Assistant Professor of Ceramic Art Johnathan Hopp has been selected as a 2022 New York State Council on the Arts/New York State Foundation for the Arts (NYSCA/NYFA) Artist Fellow in the category of architecture and design.

The award carries a $7,000 unrestricted cash grant and is awarded in 15 different disciplines, including architecture and design. The grant is intended to fund an artist’s vision or voice, at all levels of their artistic development.

Hopp received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master’s degree in Design from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, in Jerusalem. He has worked on commissions and projects for clients such as the Tel-Aviv municipality and the Design Museum, in Holon. Israel. His work has been exhibited in numerous venues including the Israel Museum and the Gardiner Museum, in Toronto.
