Doris Möncke, associate professor of glass science, named Fellow of the American Ceramic Society

Doris Möncke, associate professor of glass science in Alfred University’s Inamori School of Engineering, has been designated a Fellow in the American Ceramic Society (ACerS).


ALFRED, NY – Doris Möncke, associate professor of glass science in Alfred University’s Inamori School of Engineering, has been designated a Fellow in the American Ceramic Society (ACerS).

The Fellow designation recognizes ACerS members who have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to the ceramic arts or sciences, broad and productive scholarship in ceramic science and technology, conspicuous achievement in ceramic industry, or by outstanding service to the Society.

Möncke and 18 others in the 2022 class of ACerS Fellows will be recognized at ACerS Annual Honors and Awards Banquet on Oct. 10. The banquet is part of the ACerS Annual Meeting, held during the Materials Science and Technology Conference Oct. 9-12 in Pittsburgh, PA.

“The 2022 class of Fellows represents a diverse group of exceptional leaders in the ceramics and glass community,” Beth Dickey, ACerS president, said in a press release announcing the new ACerS Fellows. “Their professional achievements and service to ACerS have expanded the educational, scientific, technical and/or industrial frontiers of our profession. I commend this class of Fellows for their outstanding achievements.”
