Sarah Blood awarded residency at John Michael Kohler Arts Center

Alfred University Associate Professor of Light Sarah Blood has been awarded a 2023 Arts/Industry Artist residency at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, in Sheboygan, WI.

The three-month residency will enable Blood to join other artists in taking advantage of the resources, technology, and materials available at the Arts Center. Blood's residency will be in the Pottery at Kohler Co.

The Arts/Industry Artists residency program is a nearly 50-year cooperative venture between the Center and the Kohler Co., whose headquarters are also located in Sheboygan County, WI.

Born in the UK, Blood is an artist, independent curator, and educator. She has enjoyed an active studio practice since 1999, exhibiting her work internationally alongside contemporary artists, including Bruce Nauman, Agnes Denes, Glenn Ligon, Sarah Lucas, and Tracy Emin. She joined the Sculpture Dimensional Studies Program at Alfred University’s School of Art and Design in 2013.

Another Alfred University School of Art and Design faculty member, Joann Quiñones, was awarded an Arts/Industry Artist residency at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in 2022. Quiñones, assistant professor of sculpture, completed her residency in the Foundry at Kohler Co.
