Campus cleanup set for April 20, in observance of Earth Day

Alfred University will host a campus cleanup event on Thursday, April 20, in observance of Earth Day (April 22).

Originally scheduled to be a day-long event, the campus cleanup—themed “Invest in the World at Alfred University”—will be held in the afternoon and be followed by a barbecue luncheon for volunteers.

Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to take part in the cleanup and are asked to register using this Signup Genius link. Pre-registration is required so organizers will know how much food to prepare.

Volunteers are asked to arrive in front of Powell Campus Center between 11:45 a.m. and noon on Thursday, at which point they will be divided into two groups responsible for cleaning up locations on the north and sound ends of campus. Volunteers will disperse to their work locations and will return to the area in front of Powell Campus Center between 2:30 and 3 p.m., at which point the meal will be served. A vegan option will be available./
