Emeritus Professor of Music Luanne Crosby to perform as soloist with Rochester Oratorio Society

Luanne Crosby, soprano and emeritus professor of music at Alfred University, will be soprano soloist for Mozart Mass in C Major, “Coronation Mass” with the Rochester Oratorio Society and Orchestra on Friday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hochstein Music School in Rochester.

The concert “Hallelujah from On High” also features “I will Lift Mine Eyes” a work for tenor, chorus, and orchestra by African American Composer, Adolophus Hailstork, and Beethoven’s “Hallelujah” under the direction of Eric Townell. The “Coronation Mass” is a favorite for Crosby, who performed as soloist in Rome with the Alfred University Chamber Singers and other invited choirs under the direction of Lawrence Wyatt.

At the Oct. 27 concert in Rochester, fellow Alfred University retirees Steve Crandall (retired dean of Libraries), Steve Crosby (retired professor of theater), and Laurel Buckwalter (retired University carillonneur), along with Sarah Blood, associate professor of glass in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, will perform as members of the choir.
