Assistant professor of art history Bernstein presents paper at international conference

Meg Bernstein, assistant professor of art history at Alfred University, presented a paper for an international conference held last fall.

Bernstein collaborated on a paper, “Art after the End of the World? Vibrating Architecture, Uncertain Apotropaism and the Birth of the Romanesque,” with Meg Boulton of the University of York (England).

On Nov. 29, Bernstein presented her and Boulton’s research virtually at the conference, “Unseeing the Evil Eye: Powers and Politics of the Apotropaic.” The conference was held jointly at Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte and the Staatliches Museum für Ägyptische Kunst in Munich.
