Performing Arts students attend USITT meeting and job fair
Students from Alfred University recently attended the United States Institute for Theatrical Technology (USITT) Upstate NY Regional Meeting and Job Fair, held Feb. 3 in Syracuse.
Students considering future careers in the technical worlds of theater received résumé advice and interviewed with numerous theatre companies for summer positions and internships. Students had the opportunity to meet with representatives from companies including Chautauqua Theatre Co., Glimmerglass Opera, Hangar Theatre, and The Rev.
Students were also able to network with theater reps in search of possible summer internships and summer stock jobs. Those include positions in set construction, costuming, tech design, and the challenge of presenting multiple theater productions during busy summer seasons.
