Ready, set ... Alfred University Athletics Day of Giving is Tuesday, March 19

Alfred University Athletics kicks off Go Saxons Day, its first Saxon Nation Day of Giving, to support student-athletes on Tuesday, March 19, beginning at 11 a.m. This 24-hour giving event concludes at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

“Get in the game and make a gift to support our teams on Go Saxons Day,” says Deb Steward, associate vice president for Student Experience, Athletics, and Recreation. “There are exciting challenge dollars on the line that can push your favorite team to win additional money.  All gifts go directly to the sport or program of the donor’s choice. Donors can also support all student-athletes by making a gift to the Saxon Nation General Fund, Athletic Communications, Strength & Conditioning, and/or Sports Medicine.”

Thanks to the generosity of donors and the Saxon Nation Board of Directors, your gift can help your team win a share of the $12,000 challenge pool. Be our MVP on Go Saxons Day and score for your teams and programs. Here’s how!

  1. Make a gift at alfred.edu/gosaxonsday.
  2. Spread the word and check out the Go Saxons Day Fan Page to cheer on our teams. Connect with us on social media. Take a selfie with the Go Saxons Day pennant (former student-athletes will have received it via the mail) or a Saxon Nation photo, tag our accounts and use the hashtag #GoSaxonsDay.
  3. Tune in at com/GoSaxonsDayLive and hear LIVE interviews from students, coaches, and staff from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, and again from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, Go Saxons Day.

“Go Saxons Day is an important event to support our student-athletes,” said Brian Battle ’91, president of the Saxon Nation Board of Directors. “Donations to our teams and programs elevate experiences, improve facilities and equipment, and support development and leadership skills.”
